Christmas time - the joy of giving and receiving - and a beautiful message today.

It is Christmas time - a time of giving and receiving and definitely a time for reflection as the year winds down and we think about what this last year has bought with it.  I love Christmas, it makes me think of family, Summer heat, the ocean and pools, swimming and hanging out in your bikini's, delicious salads and a beer out by the  BBQ, Xmas eve drinks with friends with family, opening presents, surprises, music, champagne, Haigh's chocolates and late afternoon sleeps. It also means another year is nearly gone. Time passes and with it comes joy, sorrow, surprises and expected events, moments of happiness and laughter intermingle with those of sadness and disappointment. I have learnt that if we can watch these feelings come and go without reacting to them and still staying positive and sometimes find the humour in them and have a laugh life is even more intoxicating. By learning to be focused on the process of what I am doing and finding meaning and engagement in your life then I have learnt that ultimately, you really do become happier, more peaceful and enjoy life more.

Anyway enough of that little reflection - For this blog - I am going to cheat a little and use a reader's words instead of mine because I am so thrilled to receive messages almost on a daily basis on how much people are enjoying the book, it is inspiring them and they can't put it down!  I am going to quote a message I received today from Amy, whom I am yet to meet yet has been given my book through Johnny friend. I  think inspiration is amazing in that as you give, so do you receive. I will be sharing other's readers words too soon and for now, here is Amy's message:

Amy:
"Thank you for writing your book. You are amazing!! So incredible, beautiful and inspirational. I see myself in so many parts of your life and to see how you created so many positives and such a wonderful life is comforting. I loved the honesty and purity of the book. You are so brave to have put pen to paper so eloquently! This weekend just gone I actually met Johnny and Billy. They were so lovely. He is such a beautiful little boy. Very sweet. And what a little spunk. After meeting him and spending even the shortest amount of time with him, it's easy to see that you truly are a wonderful mother. After reading your book, I feel strong and empowered! I'm ready to set new goals! And I'm looking forward to taking your affirmations and using them to turn my dreams into reality..."

Personally I think Amy has a gift with words!

Many Blessings and enjoy your Christmas season.

Intuition and decisions

We've had some important decisions to make recently and I am continuing to make these mostly on my intuition. I certainly use common-sense and logic too and make sure I am connected to the 'real world,' I sometimes ask trusted friends, family and colleagues what they think, yet ultimately I ask my intuition, Eli and my angels. Sometimes I am guided spiritually and the thoughts, images, dreams and feel that comes up is becoming clearer and clearer. I think it is like a muscle being used and growing stronger. It's vey important to continue to connect to the real world too when doing this work so that you stay grounded - we are spiritual human beings after all.

I've learnt too that it's not to be used for selfish, harmful reasons - it just doesn't work on horse racing,  so sorry to those would be get rich quick punters!   It works for soul purpose good and common good of community - for peaceful and loving reasons. It definitely works for choosing the best foods for my body to eat for my body to flourish - often before choosing a meal I will ask myself:
"What can I have that will nourish my body and soul and be delicious and enjoyable too?" The answer usually jumps out at me in a vision or, if we are in a resturant, on the menu.

But back to decisions, I've also learnt that sometimes when faced with decisions it helps to remember that you can always make the best decision that you can at the time and that's always enough.

Often, it takes strength and courage to listen and follow your intuitive voice, your inner compass and make decisions that ultimately you think you will be happy with in the long run. It's never too late to start, and if you forget one time, you can always try to remember the next time. Sometimes I even put my hand on the skin on my stomache to get a feel for my 'gut feel' my 'intuition' in a situation.

Sometimes it's good to remind yourself that some things are just not worth stressing over and it's great to cherish life's moments and flow with life easily.

Everyone has their own opinions and can make their own choices, that's the beauty of being an individual. Your deepest core values I think are reflected in your intuitive choices so beginning to pay attention to these can also help you find direction in life.

Listen to your intuition and cherish life - mine is telling me now to go to bed and sleep! Good night:)

Love, Motivational Speaking and Confidence

I loved talking to a small group of talented thirteen year old basketballers yesterday as part of motivational speaking.  We explored building confidence, self-esteem and achieving what seems like the impossible dream.

I was very impressed with the values they shared with me as a foundation for their team - never giving up, encouraging each other especially if one is down, including everyone in some way, staying focused on a positive performance no matter the situation, respect for self, other and opponent and good self-care of their bodies with nutrition and hydration! Talk about them being the stars of the show!

They loved the little footage clip of Liz Cambage I put together for them as well as learning about how to break their goals/mountains down into small achievable steps. Purposeful small steps are great!

It got me thinking - I love to focus on action in overcoming insecurities. Insecurities are normal, the best people in the world at their endeavours have them. Focusing on action as a way to overcome these, I find is very helpful and its a great way to build confidence.

Focusing on love and sometimes moving past fear to love is always a major focus for me in whatever I am doing.

I am not alone in my thinking that love is the most powerful force of all.

I love you and am sending you love and blessings.

Monday morning organisation tip and act of self-love

I just wanted to share a tip that really helps me.  Monday mornings after school/creche drop-off, I take a moment to sit down with my diary and a cappuccino at a favourite coffee-shop and plan out my week.

It's very simple - but to me it is a form of self-coaching, self-love and self-personal training. I take the time that I need to work out what is important to me and living my soul-purpose life.  It also helps me see the big picture and prioritise what's important to me/needs to be done sooner/can wait/doesnt need doing/can be delegated and so on from  family, work, training, helping with charity events, Billy/Amelia commitments, school events, triathlons, book marketing, writing and so on.

I think it also helps get all the different things on my to-do list from out of my head and onto an organised page, thereby reducing the overwhelm and creating a plan of little achievable steps.

It's a little act of self-love that helps set up my week.

I hope this helps and go create some wonderful days this week!
